IIRC we talked about "friendly" and "unfriendly" not regarding license, but having sorta "stamp of approval" wrt installation procedure, compatibilty to other applications, coding standards, portability etc. etc.
Well friendly / unfriendly etc WOULD have something to do with license. I had a discussion with RMS on this long ago and it was VERY important to him.
It would go something like: Preferred : Is GPL and meets our standards. Friendly : Is Free Software other than GPL and meets our standards. UnFriendly : Is Free Software of any kind that doesnt meet our standards. We would not list or acknowledge any 'non-freesoftware' packages. I believe (but would have to check my notes) what we agreed upon with RMS. -Derek
