The way this could work is that you treat GNU Go as a black box. Just
use it to as a tool that can generate moves (and vaule them), and
evaluate positions.
You can connect to GNU Go via GTP, have it generate moves and value them
to build up your local game tree.

It is certainly ambitious to get s.th. done until then, but I think
you can get there.
