I have been looking in that technology for some time and it fascinates me.

It seems very appealing as a GUI. Would XUL be much of a learning curve for programmers accustomed to using java or other languages for web browsers?

Hi Jim,

I haven't used XUL practically. But I will soon! I want to use it for a as output format for an EHR-Frontend-Generator for openEHR. This project which I do with a Postdoc from CQU Rockhampton (Sebastian Garde) will start beginning of March.

Then there is also this uni project for the upcoming term (March-June). I will try to integrate it in the Generator work. But I feel that it might not yet be advandced enough for a presentable project. That is why I am thinking about implementing a small client for Horst's new drugref API. Of course this would also be XUL to gain experience in it. (your prescription process descripton is very helpful for that)

It seems that XUL is fairly simple: all xml markup which can be hooked to C++/Python objects through XPCOM.
But ones you actually use it there are always problems popping up...

Tim replied to one of my "XUL" posts, where he mentioned that "it is NOT so nice!". I tried to ask him about his experiences but he never replied. (@Tim: if you read this, I am still eager to listen to your advice).
