It does. It would require quoting the database name
everywhere in the database which is easily forgotten.

That's why we do so.

I can only guess Gour is wishing for a tarball which, upon
unpacking, pushes man pages into

        /usr/man/<section>/the-page.<section number>

and translation files into

        /usr/share/locale/LC_MESSAGES/<lang>/gnumed.po

This would be akin to auto-installation upon unpacking a
tarball. Spewing random stuff into system directories just
by opening an archive. What a horrible idea. This is the
same as opening an email in Outlook - which is quite
sufficient to initiate re-formatting of all available
storage and re-installation of Windows if so desired by the
sender.

No way, the tarballs provided by the GNUmed project will
make sure as hell it doesn't interfere with the users
system.

But maybe Gour meant something else - I'd be happy to
evaluate that.
