Yes. The problem is that those images are REALLY big. We're currently using
1024x1024
textures.
I guess we need to step up a notch.

I think that's actually working pretty well, with the new algorithm
(project to circle). It's very predictable.

Yes.

Have you set your gamma correctly:
xgamma -gamma 2
helps.

Hmm. This needs a good, old-fashioned kludge ;)
Going through the image and putting somewhere a note and then drawing
that spot white before drawing the page.
