mhh... I don't understand this: what do you mean?
On my systme for instance it is compiled with the following line:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I..     -g -O2 -c cmdline.c

You're right about the comments: I hadn't noticed that; sorry about
that.

Have you tried to erase those comments?

Actually the next release of cpp2html will take care of that (there's
also another bug fixed).

It should be out very soon.

Could you please send me the configure file, and configure's logs, in
order to try to understand what happened? If they are big please send it
to me instead of to the list, or compress it.
