Thanks to everyone who helped out in the discussion of this issue. I've submitted a patch to Will Estes and John Millaway which fixes the problem. Because of compatibility concerns the current flex repeat operator precedence is the default behavior. The AT&T and POSIX lex repeat operator behavior is selected by either specifying ``-l (--lex-compat)'' or a new option ``-X (--posix-compat)''. Will wanted a new option just in case we found any future POSIX compliance issues. Casey
