My first instinct is to leave it alone, although perhaps James
could add a sentence or two to the CG noting that lily-git only
retrieves recent history.  The difference in bandwidth isn't a big
deal if you only do this once, but new contributors are likely to
do several initial checkouts, and they really don't need history
or gitk.

I'd say that right now James is in between an initial contributor
(who should just use lily-git) and a normal unix contributor (who
would probably prefer to read the rest of CG 2).
