Short answer: the fastest way of getting these into the manual is for
somebody to add them to LSR. When 2.11.21 comes out, they'll be in the
list:

Long answer: (not directed at you, Trevor; you know this already)
Sure! Just as soon as somebody takes a look at
http://lilypond.org/web/devel/participating/documentation-adding
and sends me some instructions.

Remember that I _don't do_ vocal music. If you wanted me to scrawl out
a nursery rhyme with lilypond -- with no concern for formatting -- I
would need to look up the *tutorial* to figure out how to do it. I've
certainly never written a piece with lyrics, much less done any tweaking
of vocal stuff. So when it comes to anything in chapter 7.3, I need
exact instructions.

If you think that we should have a new subsection inside 7.3, at the end
of that section, that simply includes the text of Arvid's email, I can
do that... but please tell me to do it exactly like that. You certainly
can't count on me to use my own judgement to add any tricks that Arvid
forgot, or to explain anything that Arvid skipped over.

I'm fine with anything that isn't in chapter 7. I'm an expert at string
music. And one of these weeks, when I start doing my Friday night
documentation work and I don't have twenty emails to process, I'll learn
how to do vocal stuff.

Arvid,

Could you wrap an introduction and conclusion around your common vocal
settings, pick a place for the new section to go in the manual, and
then send to Graham? Like Graham, I don't do vocal music, but your
common settings form a cool pattern.

More generally to everybody, seems like it would be nice if we could
encourage expert users in different domains to contribute something
like a set of "common settings I use when engraving blah type of
music", and send these to Graham for inclusion in the relevant section
or sections of the manual.
