I'm grateful for all the input from everyone. So now I can add my 2
cents: I also find it more difficult to read the lyrics when the
music is beamed across syllables as opposed to being separated. That
issue might be compounded by the input user's choice of a font, etc.
For example, the musician who puts some music together for us monks
uses beams across syllables and words ... and then has a very small
font AND stacks 4 or more verses of lyrics on top of one another.
That's definitely pushing my limits for ease of reading when the
piece is unfamiliar!
