No.  \addlyrics is exactly as robust as the corresponding \lyricsto
construct.  It's just that in more complex \addlyrics situations, the
corresponding \lyricsto construct might end up being a bit of a
surprise.

Which reminds me that I still need to fix the latest such discovered
\addlyrics surprise.  Which turned out to be rather tricky.
