Hi Dick,

This is caused by newer distributions having later gcc's with stricter checks.

Your best bet is to upgrade to the latest, 8-1-2 is over a year and a half old. CVS is the best option.

You could probably fix this particular problem by copying in the later mtd-utils spec files. However on a distribution that is newer than the LTIB release you're likely to run into other problems. So please upgrade.

Hi All,
When I reinstall Linux (OpenSUSE) and run "./install"
I got this error message from host_config.log, as below.
What step is let me do ?
Thank you very much.

    Hi Dick,

I've no idea what is going on here, there should be some more output.

Can you try running as just ./ltib and see if you get any more. If
that does show anything run as ./ltib -v (there will be a ton of
    debug output).

           Hi Dick,

You don't need to reinstall your distro. Send your
        host_config.log
so I can see what the error is, please compress this first
(gzip host_config.log and then send as an attachement)

           Regards, Stuart

               Hi Stuart,

When I execute the "./ltib", it's very soon to show error
        that
               tell me to see host_config.log.
               So I think it fail.
But I'll reinstall the Linux, what distribution are you
        suggest
               ?Ubuntu? Fedora ?....
               Thank you very much.

               Best regards,
