Follow-up Comment #5, bug #53539 (project octave):

commenting out the line


setenv ("TZ", "UTC0");


in datevec.m completely gets rid of the messages about changed files in the
editor and flipping timestamps.

But I have no idea how to use strptime() without this hack.

Perhaps creating a mutex for a strptime wrapper and the relevant gui code?
