Dimitri, I made one more step: This from the faq processing after fixing the egrep problem: I can't find the format file `etex.fmt'! kpathsea: Running mktexfmt etex.fmt /usr/local/bin/texi2dvi: texinfo.tex appears to be broken, quitting. This shows that there are more problems with reintegrating texi2dvi into texlive-2010. They actually just forgot about texinfo-tex. Not surprising when you note that they broke TeX into over 1000 separate packages. It appears that they thought that each package could contain at most one program. This is about all I can do for now. Michael |
