First - list problem; at least in my mailer, "reply" to the list silently
defaults to replying to author only, not to list. Hence a couple of my
replies has inadvertently ended up being personal instead of list! Could
this behaviour be changed on the listserver end somehow?
For example discussion below, I feel I am missing part of it...
Anyway:

Well I do 3ds max plugins with VC7 all day. I havn't had any problems -
yet. The memory problem was actually new to me but:

Actually it is relatively rare you actually need to do this in most
"normal" simple plugins. Most stuff come from MAX. Also in a bitmapio case
you ask max for the bitmap of a given format, hence allocs happen within
max. (Since I plan not to actually implement a new bitmap format, simply
allow import/export of OpenEXR's)

The IDE kinda grows on you but I wondered what was wrong with the old one
:/ The improved debugging and edit-and-continue is worth it IMHO.
