Well, I tried both GNET 1.1.9 and 2.0.1 and I still can't build a Pan 0.14.0.92 RPM. It keeps failing on gnet-2.0.pc, which is in /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig, and that is in my /etc/ld.so.conf and I've re-run ldconfig about a half-dozen times and it's still not finding it. I've just now copied it to /usr/lib/pkgconfig and we'll see.... I *think* it made it past that... Yep. I'll try to see if the modified gnet.spec (gnet 1.8 spec changed to read 2.0.3) will produce a working gnet2 rpm.... anyone wanna test it for me?

/etc/ld.so.conf is used by the runtime linker to find shared libraries, so changing it will not have an effect on whether or not pkg-config can find .pc files.

You can use the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH to add things to pkg-config's search path.
