The bug has been mentioned by others, but I finally decided the new PAN
was getting stable enough to try to actually switch over to using it.

I have two identical ISP provided servers that I configured first. I then
configured gmane as a third server. Naturally, gmane, as a list2news
gateway, has an entirely different group list.

The only subscribed groups retained are those on gmane. When I subscribe
to groups on the ISP (cox) servers, then restart pan, not only do the
groups I subscribed to on those servers disappear from the subscribed
list (leaving only the gmane subscriptions), but they aren't in the "other
groups" list either! A second pan restart returns them to the "other
groups" list, where I can resubscribe, and start the cycle over.

So... after the first restart, PAN knows they /should/ be subscribed, and
doesn't display them in the "other groups" list, but doesn't display them
as subscribed, either. A second restart and PAN realizes they aren't
subscribed again so puts them back in the "other groups" list, where they
can be resubscribed (starting the cycle again).

I guess switching to new pan to follow my regular groups will have to wait
another version bump or two. =8^(
