Firstly, do a CVS update of the source tree. Then.......

<Open up a console>
<Change directory to the source tree>

> make depclean # removes any compiled stuff
> ./configure # add additional flags (see ./configure --help) if needed
> make # and watch the compiling ;-)

> su # type in root password...

        # NOTE! Might be a good idea to apt-get remove your .deb files
        #       at this point in time just in case...

> make install # this actually installs the compiled stuff

And it has installed everything. It might take a while to compile from
source, but of course, this is CPU power, not bandwidth I'm talking
about :-)
