I've just got rid of the issue:

~/.ratpoisonrc:
exec fbsetbg -r ~/Bilder/Hintergrundbilder && xsetroot -solid black

~/.Xdefaults:
URxvt*inheritPixmap:    true
URxvt*shading:          10
URxvt*tintColor:        white

Everybody (almost everybody) who played around with transparent
terminals knows that drawings to the normal root window don't effect
transparency at all. You have to use special programs for that.

So you use a "real" background program first and then paint the root
window black again. Voila. This way you're nice background image is only
visible in terminals. And since you usually don't have empty frames,
this is a wonderful allround solution :)
