Yep.  Left over debug messages.  I thought I'd gotten them all.

Would it be ok to wait and take these out in 1.0.1?  Or are
they annoying enough for me to do it now. 

Speaking of the Makefile.conf ... How is it?   I'm a little
worried that it might be too confusing.
