Hi Rick --
I've got a RedHat 5.2 GNU/Linux box, and RedHat 5.2 ships with egcs
(1.0.3a) as the standard C compiler, which suggest to me that you may
have done something non standard in your RedHat setup.
Here's the versions of the required software that I have
(successfully) build the source Swarm 1.4 against. I'm pretty sure
that they're the standard RedHat 5.2 packages (egcs-1.0.3a certainly
is, with the exception of libffi, of course, which is Paul's RPM).
address@hidden $ rpm -q egcs egcs-objc tcl tk blt libpng zlib xpm xpm-devel
libffi
egcs-1.0.3a-14
egcs-objc-1.0.3a-14
tcl-8.0.3-20
tk-8.0.3-20
blt-2.4f-3
libpng-1.0.1-5
zlib-1.1.3-2
xpm-3.4j-3
xpm-devel-3.4j-3
libffi-1.18-1
You can browse the RH 5.2 distribution tree which is mirrored at:
http://rufus.w3.org/linux/RPM/redhat/5.2/i386/Tree.html
just to make sure.
