It turns out the problem was that the `Custom' install option somehow
had subcomponents unmarked by default -- strangely enough, the
subcomponents *were* all marked in InstallShield, *grumble*.

Anyway, if you have swarm-1.4.1.exe (downloaded or on CD-ROM), and you
want to install via the Custom option (say, to see the disk
consumption options), click on the `Packages' component (disabling
it), and then click again (reenabling it) -- this will ensure that all
the subcomponents get installed.  Alternatively, there is a new
swarm-1.4.1.exe on the SFI FTP site that doesn't have this problem.
