A matter of execution time.

In my simulation the actions each Agent have to perform are so complex
that at each simulation step,the schedule in which they are inserted in
the ModelSwarm take some seconds to complete.As a consequence, the user
interface gets updated with an annoying delay. So for example,if I push
the 'Stop' button on the processContol panel,the simulation stops after
about 10 seconds!
Could you suggest me a solution to this problem?
