I have found memory leaks with the dmalloc package.

The problem with packages like that is that just about any memory leak
hides from you because you can't distinguish "currently open and in use"
unfreed memory from "unused that ought to be freed" memory.

In the Gnome project, there's memprof. If you make any mileage with
that, I'd like to hear about it.
