swarm execute problems

Hello
I have installed SWARM 2.1.1 on a RedHat 7.1 system.  I get the examples
to compile but when I try to run them I get the following error.

heatbugs:

lt-heatbugs: error while loading shared libraries: libgcc_s.so.1: cannot
load shared object file: No such file or directory

This library is installed and in located in /usr/local/lib.
/usr/local/lib is also in my path.

The same error occurs when trying to run "hello world"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
