I know from previous experience, that I need a special gcc (using the
gnu binutils) to get a working swarm library. I am in the process of
compiling a patched version of gcc-3.0.4 right now. My question was
for a more general list of needed software, like the one on
ftp:/pub/swarm/src/needed, but more up to date for the snapshot
versions.

Also from previous experience I know that swarm can be picky about the
versions of a lot of other software. It would be very helpfull to know
the requirements in advance. As ftp:/pub/swarm/src/needed and the
INSTALL (Aug 27 1999) file are not realy usefull for this purpose, I
was wondering if there exists more recent documentation.

If not, are there more packages, besides gcc, that need newer versions
then the ones I used for compiling swarm-2001-04-02?

I was planning to use Suns j2sdk1.4.0 instead of j2sdk1.3.0, do you know
of any problems with that?
