Problems installing Swarm 2.2

I tried to do that, looking for help in the archives, but I am no expert in
these matters and I did not succeed.

This is what I have:
- I have Swarm 2.1.1 installed (for Windows 98)
- JavaTM 2 SDK, Standard Edition Version 1.3.1

I downloaded:
- Swarm-2.2-pretest-6.tar.gz from
ftp://ftp.swarm.org/pub/swarm/binaries/w32/latest/
- swarm-2002-04-23.tar.gz from ftp://ftp.swarm.org/pub/swarm/src/testing/
- cygwin 1.3.10 from http://www.cygwin.com/

Now, I don't know what's next. Can anybody tell me:
- if this is ok so far
- what to do next, step by step (e.g. (how) should I uninstall 2.1.1, where
should I install the new files, what paths to change etc.)
