I suspect it's a version incompatibility with respect to the version
that Swarm was built with and TCL/Tk/BLT stuff in Cygwin, but as you
say, it doesn't appear to be fatal.

Unfortunately the last Swarm binary snapshot (prerelease 6) for
Cygwin, is going to drift more and more out of date with respect to
the current Cygwin, unless we find a new maintainer.

It would be great if some Windows user could volunteer to be the
Windows/Cygwin maintainer (like Bill Northcott did with MacOS X) and
try to build the latest CVS snapshot of Swarm with the latest Cygwin,
and even better, help package it as a "true" Cygwin package, so we can
freeze the 2.2 release and do a "stable" release of Swarm under
Cygwin.

I only occasionally use Windows, although I have passing familiarity
with Cygwin, I'm not invested enough in Windows to spend the time on
tweaking, but I'm sure that there are others who are invested... ;-)
