a configurable timeout is an option. Adding that option is quite some work -
shall it be configured from the logcfg.dat or from command line? When
should a change be allowed, ....

For the moment I am interested if we got the main functionality right.
You can change the timeout in the code for testing, but sure that can
not be the final solution.

One problem with slow typers: You will get pauses in your cw signal if
you use some speed. Maybe best would be to adapt that timeout to the cw
speed.
