I recommend spending a bit of time chatting with Replicant folks to see how far away it is from Galaxy Tab 2 support, and if there's anything you can do to help them move along.
Because that's the only project I know of that has what you want as its goal.

Sadly Replicant at the moment is almost useless as it supports only 4 specific models (and the Galaxy Tab 2 is not supported).
I hope this project could grow and add support for many other models as I really hate Google's policies and behaviour...
