Great news! Sorry I was a day late responding to you.

I hope you've seen other developers' responses. In particular, Jean
mentioned how one could use multiple cores to reduce the time to finishl

The community bonding period is aimed at the following;

1) Getting you set up for development (check)
2) Beginning to get you integrated into the development community (getting
started now)
3) Getting you familiar with our process for getting submissions into the
code base (not sure how far you are on this).you to

One way to meet goals 2 and 3 would be for you to prepare a patch that may
or may not be related to your GSOC project, and get it through the code
review process and into the countdown. It could be a patch as simple as a
documentation patch.

Perhaps it would be good for you to search the issues list on GitLab for
issues related to beaming, and see if there are any easy ones you can see
there. This would be an easy first step.

Let us know what you find out, or reach out to the community for help as
needed. I'm part of the community, but during the bonding period it would
be great to involve more of the community, not just me.

Thanks,

Carl
