Not sure I agree... though the question of whether it would be worth it for
the printer portion to attempt to remove the link numbers, when
LINKS_ARE_NUMBERED is on, is another one.

You mean like usermode has three options. Could you add a fourth, that \
could cycle among these source styles?

Might be clearer if it says something like "the page you are about to print
is in mode xxx" prettysrc, source, preparsed, normal.
