Follow-up Comment #15, bug #63437 (project octave):

I am not sure whether the default QSettings constructor really works if
QSettings is used as a specific INI file without defining organization name,
domain and application name with QCoreApplication. As far as I remember, this
was the first use of QSettings for the GUI.
