It's odd that it's startup messages appears that often. Makes me wonder
whether it is running multiple times (eating even more memory). 


Anyway, I did a short test with glibc internal memory debug features
(linking with -lmcheck and setting the $MALLOC_CHECK_ environment
variable), but that revealed nothing.

Which either means there is nothing, or the glibc mem debugging isn't good
enough ;). Feel free to chose what you like.
