Hmmmm...I don't want to compile programs, I 'only' want to write
them ;o) Compiling is the compiler's job... I thought ?!

I checked the usual README and INSTALL files, but they contain no more
than the generic config/make/make install instructions...
Well anyway, I have a few days before my AVR chip and a bunch of parts,
arrive in the post (ordered only yesterday), so I will give avrdude some
more elbow oil in the meantime...
