Okay.  Then I won't change it.

Requests by friends for the behavior I prefer, however, has
convinced me that having an option for this is a good idea.

Relatedly, on several occasions I have missed being able to
enqueue tracks using the mouse.  --- This may be a bad idea,
but what about binding <mouse-2> to enqueue?
