A HTML-System might be very useful for a lot of things. Not only for a html/xml
based help system and a GNUstep web browser but image a WYSIWYG webpage editor
in conjunction with GNUstepWeb. Wasn't somebody working on an interface to
access gecko (mozilla's rendering engine)?

For Developers Gorm would be the KillerApp of course.

A native win32 (gui capable) backend would strengthen the cross platform
argument and might attract a lot of developers that were disappointed by
Apple's move to drop win32 support of OpenStep/Rhapsody.

Some great business application could also prove useful in making GNUstep more
widely used... but getting up to the state of Apple (implementation of Cocoa
features, Gorm & ProjectCenter improvements) and everything that would improve
the cross platform capabilities of GNUstep (win32 backend, improved support of
niche systems) might be most useful maybe...

Anyway, just my two Pfennig (no Euro yet :-) )

Greetings,
Martin
