As a historical note, "ColorFonts" and, yes, "AnimFonts" were in use on the Amiga many years ago now [1][2] - for video titling, presentations, etc. At the time they were implemented as bitmap fonts, but color and animated outline fonts on more modern devices are an obvious natural development...
