[ft-devel] Freetype controls for glyph brightness/contrast/weight?

Are there any plans to add controls/parameters to Freetype for the
rendering of glyph brightness, contrast, weight, etc?

In addition to the added flexibility, this may be of help to those
who prefer the rendering weights of older versions of the truetype
interpreters. (For example, DejaVu Sans Mono is lighter with interpreter
version 35 under hintfull than with the version 40 interpreter.)

The "Infinality" patch set does/did provide some of these types of
parameters:

INFINALITY_FT_GAMMA_CORRECTION
INFINALITY_FT_BRIGHTNESS
INFINALITY_FT_CONTRAST

Are there any plans to add such Infinality features to the mainstream
version of Freetype?

IMHO, there should be a way for users to be able to control the
"heaviness" of font rendering. If such parameters are available for
tuning in the Freetype source code, it would be helpful to know where
in the source they are.

   Cheers and thanks in advance,
