The superior features of arch with respect to introspection and
writing new history (ie, as a separate branch) will be lost.

On a couple of occasions I've had to go back a year or more and try to
determine a clean changeset from CVS records and the fallible memories
of the authors.  I kept what I think are careful notes, but it would
be far better if those notes were kept as part of the CVS history itself.

You could probably create branches with appropriately reassembled
changesets and so in in CVS, too, but arch is much better at it.
