Yes, but all these choices are irrelevant if you simply write a wrapper
around tla as it stands now.  There's really no need for a code fork to
deal with these aspects.  I mean, sure pika-escaping may be annoying,
but if you write a wrapper, you can easily convert them (that's kind of
the point after all).

Still, the bottom line seems to be that tla should be factored into
support libraries and a default interface so that people can more easily
do whatever they want with the code/protocol.
