I had also started a 50 game 3 stones series. I think I should leave this
to Dan's new P4 now :-)
So I have stopped it after 21 games, GNU Go 3.1.29 won 12 of these.

As another remark, when I looked at the timings after ~12 games, GNU Go
3.1.29 was actually slighlty faster (4%) than 3.0.0 in these games.
It needed less than 25 mins per game. As my PC is by now probably below
average with respect to performance, this seems very acceptable to me.
I'd even wonder whether we should offer new levels 11 and 12 or so, that
could e.g. be running with --owl-threats.
