It should work on 2.4, I just didn't test it because I don;t happen to
have that version opf Python installed.
BTW, at Linux.conf.au opnme of the python developers was talking about
a toolset for testing code in a variety of python versions.
Unfortunately, I cam e in right at the end of his talk, and it doesn't
seem to appear in the schedule.
