Hi,

I have been using Lilypond for quite some time now and couldn't live without it anymore.

I never tried to use lilypond-book before and want to give it a try.

But I can't get the example from Lilypond-Usage 3.1 work for me:
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.16/Documentation/usage/an-example-of-a-musicological-document

I am using Lilypond 2.16.2 on Linux Fedora 18.

First it tyook me some time to find a file "screech-and-boink.ly" to include in the example document.

But after that, following the step-by-step instructions in this chapter, I am getting this error:

ERROR: In procedure primitive-load-path:
ERROR: Unable to find file "lily.scm" in load path
command failed: /bin/lilypond --formats=ps -dbackend=eps -I "." -I ".." --formats=eps --pdf -dinclude-eps-fonts -dgs-load-fonts -deps-box-padding=3.000000 -dread-file-list -dno-strip-output-dir "/home/m.tarenskeen/Muziek/Lilypond/lilypond-book/out/snippet-names--4052591517874573391.ly"
Child returned 1

What could I be doing wrong or am I missing something?

Does the simple example above compile:

\begin{lilypond}
\relative c' {
 c2 e2 \times 2/3 { f8 a b } a2 e4
}
\end{lilypond}
