I actually thought first of "Wie liegt die Stadt so wüst" by
Mauersberger after the bombing of Dresden.  Which, while being the text
of "Klagelieder Jeremiahs" (English: "lamentations of Jeremiah"), is
pretty much prose.

I suspect there are a few Jerusalems around...
