Thank you; I really appreciate it.

Is there a way dump the config.log out of the pkg install process?  It always
deletes the temporary directory even if I interrupt the build process.

I also tried pkg build with a separate build directory, but it failed saying
that it needs the signal package (which is installed, along with control).

Trying to run configure from the 'src' directory of the communications tarball
is also not a help (nothing but environment and script variable errors).
