OSX: Limited mouse functionality in gnuplot window |

Hi,
just yesterday, when playing around with quiver3, I noticed that the
gnuplot-window used for display offers very limited mouse
functionality. It's impossible to change the viewing angle or zoom
with the mouse when plotting from octave.
On the other hand, when I start gnuplot directly and make it plot
something, for example with
splot sin(x)*cos(y) wi pm3d
I can rotate the plot and zoom.
This happens with
octave 3.2.3 and gnuplot 4.2.2 on OSX 10.5.8 as well as
octave 3.2.4 and gnuplot 4.4.3 on OSX 10.6.8.
both environments have setenv GNUTERM x11, and in all cases the
programs were built from source without any package managers.
Am I still doing something wrong, or was this fixed in later versions
of octave (which currently fail to compile for me)?
Kind regards,
Alex
