I had not tested the make dist stuff. Sorry about that. I can see what I 
did wrong in the EXTRA_DIST stuff. I'm not sure I understand why you made 
some of the other changes though. I will look into it more thoroughly and 
keep you posted.

I'll make sure I check all those rules too.
