win95 installation

I just downloaded the cygnus and swarm files and tried to load them on my
computer.  I followed the instructions that were previous posted.
Unfortunately, the d: drive is the only one on this machine that has space.
Has anyone been able to compile on the d: drive, or am I better off finding
a different machine.  It seemed that every file could not find any of its
include files.  Will all these problem go away if I install it on the c:
drive.  Any help would be much appreciated.
