using selectors

Hello all,
  I'm having trouble understanding the correct usage of selectors, 
and could do with some help... I'm trying to send specify a message 
for use in the createSequence method of EZGraph. If I don't want to 
pass any parameters with the message I do the following:

[alleleGraph createSequence: "Total population" withFeedFrom: 
[epdSwarm getWorld] andSelector: M(getWorldPopulation)];

now I need to know how to pass a parameter along with the message (an 
integer in my case). I hope someone can tell me the correct syntax, 
or where I can find it written down in plain English (I've been 
finding the on-line Objective C resources a little confusing at 
times). Thanks!
